Yes, you read the title correctly. The first car to be announced as part of the 2010 Gumball 3000 grid is the Dodge (Viper) SRT-10 of Andrew Brimecome, a 2009 veteran. Far from being just a standard SRT-10, Andrew’s SRT-10 features over £50,000 worth of modifications making it one of the most powerful cars that Gumball has ever seen.
Underneath the bonnet lies the standard cars 8.3 litre V10 coupled with an ACR twin turbo. With over 1,300bhp being delivered to the rear wheels, this SRT-10 is likely to be a crowd puller in London next year.
The owner had the following to say about his car: “the car is superb and I love what all of the little changes have created but it’s certainly not for the faint hearted. The car is insanely fast and in the right environment it is also extremely good fun! However, abuse it and it will bite you in the arse and run of with your wallet. Every time I start the engine I have to prevent the surge of excitement escaping my body through my right foot – If I did my car would spend its life in the body shop and I would spend my life in the nearest A&E.”
Andrew drove a Dodge Viper roadster on last years rally.
